The Galactic Senate has existed for thousands of generations, being one of the founding points of the Galactic Constitution that established the Republic. Within its immense chambers, the Senate consisted of elected and appointed leaders from the worlds throughout the Republic. Some Senators represent only a single world, while so-called sectorial Senators represent multiple worlds within the same sector.

The Senate convened in a massive domed structure over two kilometers in diameter. The sprawling courtyard leading to the building was lined with abstract sculptures depicting the Republic's Core World founders. The interior was hued in lavendar, the only color that has never been associated with war, anger or mourning in any of the myriad cultures found within its walls. Each Senatorial delegation was afforded huge banks of office space customized to the native environments of each culture. A total of 1,024 repulsorlift platforms lined the interior space of the Senate rotunda. When a Senator wished to speak, the platform would detach and float to the center of the auditorium for all to see.

When a Grand Session is called all bodies of the Republic must be either present or have someone representing them. This includes: The Supreme Chancellor, The Vice- Chairman of the Senate, The Senators, The Representatives, The Administrative Aids for each System, and the Jedi Council. The Fate of the galaxy lies in this chamber and in the hands of these Politicians

The three Jedi Masters entered into the Jedi Council platform, throughout the Senate Rotunda the roar of arguing senators could be head out into the docking bays. Craven searched through his thoughts 'Was this really the best thing to do, the temptation it could cause...' Craven paused for a moment as his platform began to travel toward the center of the rotunda. 'Yes it is the only way,' confirmed the Jedi Master.

"SILENCE!" yelled an attendent to the late Loko Areba. The roars of the Senators slowly settled. "We are not here to argue but to come together for the good of the Republic, we need to, if not we will surely perish in the war."

"WAR!, you speak of war, Tia-meed, you do not have the power to declare it only the Senate does!" called the representative from Malastare.

"Please I have made no such declaration, but war is upon us whether the Senate wishes is it nor, and you know this as well as I. What was not the slaying of our beloved Chancellor Areba a diliberate act of war!, " retorted attendent Tia-meed. "What we need is leadership in these desperate hours...."

The usuall representative of the Council to the Senate whispered in Craven's ear, "This is where we will be offered the seat of Chancellor."

".....I make a plea to offer the Jedi Council the temporary position of Supreme Chancellor, so as to provide as safe transision until we can elect a new Chancellor." said Tia-meed over a new set of roars.

The representitive from Malastare was the first to comment, "And how are we to know that once the Jedi's time is up they will now simply take power for themselves?"

"I cannot answer that but there is someone here who can." The attendent began again, "The Senate now reconizes Jedi Grandmaster Craven Qel-Droma from the chair of the Jedi Council."

The Council platform hovered singleing in the center, the Jedi Grandmaster brushed his hair to the side and gave quiet cough as he cleared his throte, "Senators," he began, "I come here to accept something I wish I didn't have to, under circumstances I wish weren't set; but they were and I'm here and it is my duty as a follower and servent of the ideals of democracy that this Republic has stood so long for, to uphold them. The Jedi are not perfect beings of light or stodgy stuck up princes and princesses as so many think, but servents and we will do everything in our being to uphold democracy, peace, and justice for the galaxy!" called Craven, wiping sweat away from his forehead."

Tia-meed smiled and called to the whole of the Senate, "Then let it be put to a vote, all in favor of temporary Chancellorship beign directed to the Jedi Council." Throughout the entire Senate the sound of cheers flooded the Rotunda.

Master Shen whispered again in Craven's ear, "And so it is done."

The great senatorial chasm opened before the one meter tall Ewok bounty hunter clad in only a traditional leather hood, a great dark pit of deciet, lies, schemes and political tricks to enchance the power, glory or personal wealth of the thousands of corrupt senators that lined its walls. Or rather the pods that curved elegantly along its walls, though Romanus was certain he would rather see each of the scheming politicians on the walls themselves, a gaudy mockery of their desire for greatness. But such was not his job today.

While personally regarding the Galactic Republic's beaureacry and false grandeur as the dichotomy of everything good in the universe and as Contractor traditonally bound to avoid all client publicity Romanus knew it was his responsibility to be at this highest profile meeting of the Galactic Senate, with thousands of Senators, hundreds of reporters, hundreds of cameras and an expected viewership on holonet of over seven trillion. He had to show the client, the entire Galatic Republic, he was here for them in the time of their greatest distress. He was ready to show the trillions and trillions of sentient beings on the tens of thousands of planets that made up the largest, though disputadly the greatest, empire the Galaxy had ever known that he and his Guild were their saviors and protectors.

He quickly called over one of the ornately robed Senatorial Guards and waved him down to his meter height, "When will the Council be arriving?"

"The Grandmaster and his party are due at any moment, sir, if you would like we can set you up in a room here in the Senate building until he arrives or one of the empty negotiating pods."

His party? "Uh, no thank you guard, we're fine right here, please send a runner down to the Chancellors office for me, though, to tell whoever is down there that The Guild has arrived." The guard bowed his head, as best he could leaning over, and walked quickly away to go about the Contractor's request. Romanus turned back slowly to the senate pit and waited patiently for his time of glory and power, a step up for The Guild of Bounty Hunters, a step onto the stage of galactic affairs in a way his predecessors had never dreamed.
